This page covers sandpile.art. It describes what happens when you load the page, what third-party advertising involves, and the terms the page is offered under.

01 Overview

Sandpile is a single-page interactive artwork: a live simulation of a pile of sand. It runs entirely in your browser. There are no accounts, no logins, and no server that stores what you do here. The simulation you see is not saved anywhere — reloading the page ends it.

This page explains what limited data may be involved when you visit, primarily through third-party advertising, and the terms under which the page is offered.

02 Information we collect

We do not directly collect personal information. The page has no contact forms, no sign-up, and no first-party analytics by default. Your interactions with the simulation (mouse movement, taps) stay in your browser and are never transmitted to us.

Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically process standard technical information (such as IP address, browser type, and request time) to deliver the page and protect against abuse. This is handled by the host, not by us.

03 Cookies & advertising

This site may display ads served by Google AdSense. To do so, Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices or, in the EU, at youronlinechoices.eu. For more on how Google uses data, see Google's partner sites policy.

A cookie notice appears on your first visit. Until you choose Accept all, ads are requested as non-personalized. Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage under the key sp-consent and is never sent to us. You can change it any time from the cookie settings link in the footer.

In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, consent is handled by Google's certified consent management platform, which takes precedence over the notice above and records your choices under the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework.

04 Analytics

No web analytics are used by default. If analytics are added later, this section will name the provider and describe what is collected and why.

05 Third-party links

This site links to external pages (for example the source code repository and the references above). We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites. Their policies apply once you leave here.

06 Children's privacy

This site is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through any feature added in the future, contact us and we will address it.

07 Your choices

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and opt out of personalized ads using the links in section 03. Blocking cookies may affect how ads are shown but will not affect the simulation, which does not rely on them.
